Brian Rowsom

At 6’10”, he was an imposing figure on the court during his days with the Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Hornets.

Drafted in 1987 in the second round by the Indiana Pacers along with Reggie Miller, Rowsom learned the game from Hall of Fame coach, Jack Ramsey. He played from 1988 to 1991 for the Charlotte Hornets, before embarking on an international career that took him to teams in Israel, Japan, and England, before retiring as a player in 1999.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he was an Honorable Mention as an All-American, he finished as his team’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder. He was named as a First Team member of the “All Colonial Athletic Association” along with such players as David Robinson (Spurs), Johnny Newman (Knicks, Hornets, Mavericks) and Blue Edward (Jazz, Celtics, Bucks).

His coaching experience includes stints in the Ontario Pro Basketball Association (Guelph Gladiators–2004) where his undefeated team won the league championship, the Charlotte Bobcats mini-camp (for a the team that included then-rookie, Emeka Okafor), the Carolina Thunder of the ABA—where he was named the “2005 ABA Coach of the Year.” In 2005 he served as the General Manager for the Charlotte Krunk, also of the ABA. In 2008-09 he Coached in Qatar for Club Ah-Ahli and led them to the playoffs after they finished last the season before.In 2006 Brian coached the Brevard Blue Ducks(2003 USBL Eastern Division Champs) to their best record in franchise history.

Brian has been a sports correspondent and occasional in-studio co host on the Bob Haynie Show, of
WNST Sports talk Baltimore, now since 2001. With his knowledge of all sports ranging from Football to Boxing, callers and listeners can get inside knowledge from a former pro athlete on what it takes to succeed in the sports world today. As a co host he has interviewed some of sports and entertainments biggest stars with some of them including University of Maryland Basketball coach Gary Williams, Florida Marlins team owner Jeffrey Loria, NBA players Juan Dixon and Carmelo Anthony, Country Music star LeAnn Rimes, NBA Head Coach Eddie Jordan and NFL Star Ray Lewis. 

He is also a guest analyst with
FOX 45 Baltimore on the Sports Unlimited TV Show. Brian can be seen Sundays in the Baltimore, MD metro area giving exclusive analysis on why some teams are winning and losing, or why the star players are not producing under pressure! Along with Host Bruce Cunningham and Amy Fadool, this team of sports guru's covers every aspect of the sports arena. 

Brian is now currently Coaching in the Basketball Japan League for for the Oita Heat Devils!
