The Carolina Thunder was an American Basketball Association team that played its games in Concord, North Carolina at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. Their only season was 2004-2005 and was coached by former NBA player Brian Rowsom. The team’s assistant coaches were Robert ''Jaye'' Floyd, Tim Anderson, Deshon Gaither and Derrick Hamilton. Some of the team’s roster included former NBA players Chris Robinson and Byron Dinkins. Also on the roster were 3 players who moved on to play in the NBA's developmental league (NBDL) Anthony Terrell, Anthony Wilkins and George Leach. The team was co owned by Tony Priscaro and former Pittsburgh Steeler player Duane Woodruff.

The Brevard Blue Ducks are a former USBL team playing their home schedule at the Clemente Center at Florida Tech. They have been in Brevard County for five years. The Blue Ducks won the 2003 USBL eastern Division Championship and in the 2006 season that tied their franchise best winning percentage of .733. The last two coaches of the Blue Ducks were NBA hall of fame player Nate Archibald and former NBA player Brian Rowsom. Other former coaches have included former NBA players Donald Royal, Robert Reid and Horace Grant. The teams latest roster included players Darrell Williams, LaMarquis Blake, John Lamers, Anthony Hatcher, Jason Mclaughlin, Shawn Conley, Brian Richman, Courtney Pritchard, Adrian Malcomb, Brian Donlon and Ernest Jones as well as boxer Roy Jones Jr!! The team is owned by Entrepreneur Mike Richman.

The Indiana Pacers are a professional basketball team that plays in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team is based in the state's capital and largest city, Indianapolis, Indiana, located in the center of the state. The Indiana Fever of the WNBA, also owned by Melvin & Herb Simon, are the Pacers' sister team and play at Conseco Fieldhouse as well. The Indiana Pacers also have 2 mascots at every home game, Boomer and Bowser, who also appear often for the NBA.

The New Orleans Hornets are a professional basketball team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. They play in the Southwest Division of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The franchise began play during the 1988-89 NBA season as the Charlotte Hornets, based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, where they were located until the end of the 2001-02 NBA season. The team had temporarily relocated its base of  operations to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons due to damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.

In 2008-09 Coach Brian Rowsom led Team Al-Ahli to a 3rd place finish in the Qatar Basketball Federation after the team had finished out of the playoffs the year before. They were led by American players William Clay and Josh Jones and veteran Qatar National Team member Hashim Zadain.
